BRAZIL | Monthly rise in industrial production. Industrial production increased by 0.5% month-on-month in November, the national statistics institute (Ibge) reported on 5 January. Production levels have been stagnant for most of 2023, as March and April were the only months of the year to register an increase or decrease of more than 0.5%. However, since August, production figures have seen slight increases every month. Out of the 25 product categories measured, 13 registered monthly increases in production in November. The categories with the greatest increase were extractive industries (+3.4%), food products (+2.8%), and drinks (+2.8%). Just as in October, the category of printing & recording equipment saw the greatest monthly fall, decreasing by 11.2% in November.
