Drug boss held.
Jorge Eliecer Asprilla, one of the reputed bosses of the northern Valle cartel, was detained on 7 June.
Asprilla, who owns a fleet of fishing boats operating out of Buenaventura, is believed to have taken over the transport and distribution interests of Cali cartel representative Jose Castrillon Henao, who was arrested in Panama a year ago. Another leading cocaine trafficker, Franklin Ramirez (aka 'Marrana Mona'), was held in Villavicencio on 5 June. He is thought to be the owner of a string of processing laboratories in the Llanos Orientales.
