REGION: Peña urges ratification of EU-Mercosur deal
On 22 January Paraguay’s President Santiago Peña called for the swift ratification of the trade deal between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur by the legislatures of the South American bloc’s member states in the hope that it could pressure the EU to apply it provisionally after it suffered a setback in the European Parliament.
