TRACKING TRENDS

HONDURAS | Annual growth exceeds expectations. The Honduran central bank (BCH) published new figures on 23 March showing that the country’s GDP posted 3.9% growth in the fourth quarter of 2023 year-on-year, while quarterly growth was 0.2%. This follows year-on-year growth of 4.1% in the third quarter of 2023, 3.4% in the second quarter, and 2.9% in the first. The figure for the final quarter of 2023 brings the annual growth rate to 3.6%, which the BCH describes as “better than expected” and above the target range established in its monetary programme for 2023-2024.
