CUBA: Government blames US for belt-tightening measures

On 10 May the government announced another round of economic stringency measures designed to shore up the economy. The government is blaming the US, which announced a tightening of its embargo on 6 May, for having to impose the 15 measures. The measures led to an immediate increase in the price of staple foods.
