*The Dominican Republic’s central bank (BCRD) has released new figures showing that remittances to the country totalled US$9.75bn in the first eleven months of 2024. This is up 5.9% on the same period in 2023. In November alone the country received US$840.8m in remittances, up 6.7% on November 2023. According to the same BCRD report, the US was the source country of 83.1% of remittances in November, followed by Spain (5.8%). The BCRD expects that the total remittances for 2024 will close at US$10.70bn.
