HAITI: UN ties government to new election date

Elections are scheduled to be held on 7 February. The fact that they have been suspended four times already and are running the risk of losing credibility prompted the UN and the OAS to send out clear messages to the interim government of prime minister Gérard Latortue to stick to the new date come what may.
