Javier Milei has announced another primary surplus, with the economy ministry stating the primary surplus stood at Ar$1.18trn (US$1.10bn) in February, while the financial surplus was Ar$310.73bn. Both amounts represent a decrease on
January’s results, when the primary surplus was Ar$2.43trn and the financial surplus stood at Ar$599.73bn. In a statement the economy ministry said that the primary surplus amounted to approximately 0.5% of GDP while the financial surplus was approximately 0.1% of GDP. The economy ministry stated that the
“care” with which the Milei administration has handled public accounts has allowed the government to
“quickly assist” the affected families in the city of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires province, which was
hit by heavy rains and flooding earlier this month,
