The head of the joint command of the Honduran armed forces, General Roosevelt Hernández, engaged in an acrimonious dispute with the president of the national electoral council (CNE), Cossette López, in recent days over the primary election debacle on 9 March. López claimed on social media that Hernández had met with figureheads of the ruling left-wing Partido Libertad y Refundación (Libre) to doctor documents in order to lay the blame squarely on the CNE for the shambolic logistical failures that marred the primary elections [WR-25-10].
