Xiomara Castro is adopting to promote and protect the human rights of migrants in response to the hardline policies adopted by the US government led by President
Donald Trump, which is enacting mass deportations. According to a statement by Honduras’ finance ministry, the CAF loan was offered under favourable conditions with a 6.56% interest rate over a 20-year period, including a five-year grace period for the capital payment. So far this year the CAF has also approved a US$10m loan to support Honduras’ coffee sector.
