TRACKING TRENDS

BRAZIL | Unemployment continues ticking up. The national statistics institute (Ibge) released new figures on 28 March which showed that the country’s unemployment rate in the rolling quarter of December 2024-February 2025 stood at 6.8%, corresponding to 7.5m unemployed people. This marks an increase from the jobless rate of 6.5% registered for November-January; from the 6.2% for October-December; and 6.1% for September-November.
