Argentina receives boost from Bretton Woods twins

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) could be prepared to release a significant chunk of a US$20bn new loan agreement being negotiated with Argentina early, according to its managing director Kristalina Georgieva. Meanwhile, the head of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, promised “a significant support package” after meeting President Javier Milei in the Casa Rosada presidential palace on 2 April.
