In brief: Mexico’s economic activity stagnates in March

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has published its preliminary indicator of economic activity (IOAE) for March which estimates that economic activity dropped by 0.2% in March as compared to the same month of the previous year. The IOAE shows no variation in monthly terms. In yearly terms, Inegi estimated a yearly drop in secondary activities of 0.3% and an increase of 0.3% in the tertiary sector. In monthly terms, Inegi estimates a drop of 0.1% in tertiary activities and no change in the secondary sector.
