*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures showing that remittances sent to Honduras in March 2025 totalled US$997.3m, up 17% on the US$853.3m received in February 2025. This brings the total for the first three months of 2025 to US$2.63bn, up 25% on the US$2.10bn received in the same period in 2024. Donald Trump whose administration is seeking to carry out mass deportations of migrants. Remittances to Honduras totalled US$9.74bn in 2024, up from US$9.18bn in 2023. The latest (2023) World Bank figures estimate that remittances account for 26.1% of Honduras’ GDP.
