Flash flood devastates city in Buenos Aires province

In early March, heavy rains caused floods in Bahía Blanca, a port city in the southwest of Buenos Aires province. Argentina’s national congress later declared an emergency in Bahía Blanca on 12 March, the same day that President Javier Milei visited the city. His government has faced criticism for its response to the disaster, with opposition figures such as Buenos Aires provincial governor Axel Kicillof accusing the central government of not providing enough support.
