In brief: Chile’s industrial production up in March

*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest figures for its industrial production index (IPI), which showed a 1.3% monthly rise in March and a 4.5% annual increase. This contrasts with the 0.6% monthly slump and the 3.6% annual drop in the IPI for February. The INE’s March report also showed 5.4% annual increases for both the manufacturing index (IPMan) and mining production index (IPMin). Meanwhile, the electricity, gas, and water production index (Ipega) saw a 0.5% yearly decrease.
