Brazil’s lower chamber of congress has approved a motion to suspend legal proceedings against federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem, of the right-wing Partido Liberal (PL). Ramagem stands accused of participating in an alleged plot to launch a coup in 2022 to reverse the election defeat that year of former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023).
