In brief: Chile’s GDP up in Q1

*Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has released its latest figures on GDP growth, showing that economic activity grew by 0.7% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter. This follows quarterly growth of 0.5% in Q4 2024. On a year-on-year basis, GDP expanded by 2.3%, driven by trade (+7.1%), manufacturing (+5.2%), the agricultural-forestry sector (+5.2%) and personal services (+3.6%). However, financial services (-3.4%), construction (-1.2%) and mining (-1.0%) all registered declines in annual terms.
