President Gabriel Boric has endorsed a report from the presidential commission for peace and understanding, which proposed a roadmap to resolve the long-standing indigenous Mapuche conflict in southern Chile. The report criticises the current indigenous land restitution system as ineffective. Boric called for negotiations for a new system to be discussed with Mapuche communities, as well as unveiling an economic reactivation plan focused on the conflict-torn provinces.
