PANAMA: Police under further pressure over protest response

On 10 June Panama’s human rights ombudsman Eduardo Leblanc said the police (PN) had used excessive force in its use of tear gas to disperse protests amid the ongoing national strike and protests over recent social security (CSS) reform, among other issues, which began in late April.
