In brief: Remittances to Honduras pick up

*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures showing that remittances sent to Honduras in May totalled US$1.06bn. This is up from US$983.08m in April which was down from US$997.32m in March. In the first five months of 2025 remittances to Honduras totalled US$4.66bn, up from US$3.87bn over the same period in 2024. Remittances to Honduras totalled US$9.74bn in 2024, up from US$9.18bn in 2023. The latest (2023) World Bank figures estimate that remittances account for 26.1% of Honduras’ GDP.
