*Brazil’s national association of vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) has released its latest production figures, which showed that 1.23m vehicles were produced in the first half of this year. This marks a 7.8% increase compared to the same period of last year. All four categories of vehicles registered annual increases in production. The categories with the greatest increases were light commercial vehicles, with 241,700 units produced in January-June (+18.3%), and buses, with 15,742 units (+7.3%). However, the latest Anfavea production report also included the monthly results for June, which showed monthly and year-on-year decreases. A total of 200,800 vehicles were produced in June this year, down 6.5% from May and down 4.9% from June 2024. The category that registered the greatest monthly drop was trucks, with 11,300 units produced in June (-8.4%), while passenger cars was the category with the greatest year-on-year decrease, registering 144,300 units (-9.2%).
