filed for bankruptcy in the US in May, has announced that it will cease operations in 14 cities. These cities are Cratéus, São Benedito, Sobral, and Iguatú, in the state of Ceará; Correia Pinto and Jaguaruna, in the state of Santa Catarina; São Raimundo Nonato and Parnaíba, in the state of Piauí; Campos in Rio de Janeiro state; Mossoró in Rio Grande do Norte; Rio Verde in Goiás; Barreirinhas in Maranhão; Três Lagoas in Mato Grosso do Sul; and Ponta Grossa in Paraná. According to a company statement cited in the national press, Azul’s decision to scale back its services was driven by factors such as a rise in operating costs, global supply chain problems, and the rise of the US dollar.
