*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures that show that the country’s monthly indicator of economic activity (Imae) was up by 4% in June 2025 compared with the same month of 2024. Meanwhile in the first six months of 2025, the Imae expanded 3.9% compared with the same period in 2024. Growth in the first six months was driven by financial intermediation, insurance, and pension funds (+10.8% compared with the same period in 2024), transport and storage (+6.0%), communications (+3.7%), and agriculture, livestock, forestry & fishing (+3.1%). The latest (5 August) growth projections by the Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) forecast 3.2% GDP growth for Honduras in 2025, down from 3.6% in 2024.
