Daniel Noboa has met Japan’s Prime Minister
Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo, as part of the Asian leg of Noboa’s diplomatic tour which will also include a stop in Vietnam following earlier visits
to Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina. Noboa and Ishiba discussed trade, energy investment, and security, according to a statement from Ecuador’s presidency. Their meeting also included the signing of a cooperation agreement between Ecuador’s export promotion agency, ProEcuador, and the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro), a government-related body. The agreement focuses on promoting bilateral strategic projects, exchanging good practices in trade promotion, the business climate and market opportunities. Ishiba was cited in the Ecuadorean statement as telling Noboa that
