MEXICO: Sheinbaum to meet Rubio amid tensions

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said this week that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Mexico in the first week of September, to conclude negotiations on a new bilateral security treaty. She said Mexico’s view of the treaty was that it should be “fundamentally” based on “sovereignty, mutual trust, territorial respect…and coordination without subordination”.
