On 29 August Ireland’s foreign ministry confirmed the release of Gena Heraty, an Irish missionary active in Haiti since 1993, and all Haitian nationals who had been kidnapped by armed gangs on 3 August from the Saint-Hélène orphanage, in Haiti’s Kenscoff commune, Port-au-Prince arrondissement.
