It has been another week of scandal for Peru’s government after a local journalist accused the interior ministry of plotting to attack her as a reprisal for a report into President Dina Boluarte’s brother, Nicanor, and Justice Minister Juan José Santiváñez. Already under investigation as an alleged member of the ‘Waykis en la Sombra’ corruption ring, Nicanor’s house was raided by prosecutors on 27 August.
