The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) was re-elected for an unprecedented third consecutive term on 3 September. Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who dissolved parliament on 10 August, had called snap elections in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic, with the JLP winning an emphatic victory.
