Paraguay’s public works minister, Claudia Centurión, signed a memorandum of understanding with Chile’s transport and telecommunications minister, Juan Carlos Muñoz, on 27 August to modernise public transport and road safety. Paraguay’s deputy transport minister, Emiliano Fernández, paved the way for the signing of the cooperation agreement during a visit to Chile. Paraguay’s public works ministry said it would allow for shared experience on transport-system planning, oversight, and integrating electric vehicles and public transport, citing Chile’s success in overhauling the transport system in Santiago and other regions.
