in April. Accumulated remittances received over the first eight months of 2025 totalled US$40.47bn, down 5.9% on the US$43.00bn received in the same period of 2024. Remittance flows from the US have come under pressure from a new remittance tax of 1% and the hardline anti-migration measures being implemented by the government of President
Donald Trump.
