BRAZIL | Job creation up in monthly terms. Brazil’s labour ministry reported on 29 September that a net 147,358 new jobs were created in August. New hires totalled 2.24m, while 2.09m people were dismissed. The job creation figure for August marks an increase from the net 134,251 jobs created in July but a decrease from the 239,069 jobs created in August last year.
