EL SALVADOR | Deputies to debate budget. El Salvador’s finance minister, Jerson Posada, presented the 2025 budget to the legislative assembly last week. The US$10.56bn budget proposal is up by 9.2% on this year. The education budget was increased by 6.9% to US$1.54bn, while the health budget was boosted by 12.3% to US$1.33bn, with additional funds for infrastructure and medication. The security and defence budget was increased by 14.8% to US$1.04bn.
