Preparations are underway for Bolivia’s presidential transition on 8 November which will place the country under an elected conservative government for the first time since 2006. As well as the urgent task of getting the ailing economy back on solid ground, President-elect Rodrigo Paz is preparing to carry out a foreign policy pivot that is likely to bring Bolivia closer to the US and away from the authoritarian leftist governments that are allied with outgoing President Luis Arce.
