BRAZIL: Lula announces intentions to run for fourth term
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated on 23 October that he will run for re-election in next year’s presidential race. Although Lula has signalled for months that he is preparing to enter election campaign mode, this represents the president’s first public declaration in which he has emphatically stated his plans to run in the 2026 election.
