*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the consumer price index (INPC) for October, which showed monthly inflation of 0.36% and an annual rate of 3.57%. This is down from monthly inflation of 0.23% and an annual rate of 3.76%
in September. Core inflation, which excludes volatile items like food and fuel, stood at 0.29% in monthly terms and 4.28% in annual terms, down from a monthly core rate of 0.33% in September, while the annual core rate remained unchanged. This comes as Mexico’s central bank (Banxico)
lowered interest rates on 6 November, marking the 11
th consecutive rate cut.
