CUBA: Pérez Roque dismisses EU approach

If the European Union (EU) had hoped that its tentative overtures to the Cuban government to hold an open political dialogue would be well received, it could not have been more wrong. In a curt response, the foreign minister, Felipe Pérez Roque, said the EU should either drop diplomatic sanctions, imposed in 2003 when 75 Cuban dissidents were rounded up and imprisoned, or drop any idea of talks.
