VENEZUELA: Isolation deepens as airlines pull out

Concerns over potential US military action in Venezuela have spilled into the civil aviation sector, with numerous airlines cancelling flights to the country following a warning by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Venezuelan government’s response only deepened the country’s isolation as it revoked the operating licences of those airlines that heeded the FAA’s warning.
