HAITI: Another step closer to elections
On 1 December Haiti’s nine-member transitional presidential council (CPT) adopted a long-awaited electoral law. This marks another step towards staging general elections which last took place in 2016, with the country lacking democratically elected legislative officials since the start of 2023, when the mandates of its remaining 10 senators lapsed.
