BOLIVIA: Morales risks split in MAS senate row

Opposition leader Evo Morales is risking a serious split in his party, the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS), by pressing home an attack on its senators, led by Filemón Escóbar, who failed to block passage of a law granting immunity from ICC prosecution to US servicemen while in Bolivia [WR-04-19]. Morales has made it clear that he believes they were bribed.
