BRAZIL: Rising femicides in São Paulo pile pressure on authorities

On 30 January the government of Brazil’s most populous state, São Paulo, updated its database of crime figures, showing annual decreases in robberies and overall homicides for 2025 but a 6.7% increase in femicides compared to 2024.
