Colombia’s interior minister, Armando Benedetti, this week began the process of collecting signatures to convene a constituent assembly, a long-held ambition of President Gustavo Petro. Benedetti showed an image of the document launching the process on social media, saying it would conclude on 6 August, the final day of Petro’s term in office.
