Oil production stood at 3.95m barrels per day (bpd), down 1.5% compared to December but up 14.6% compared to January 2025, while natural gas production stood at 193.16m cubic metres per day (m
3/d), down 0.6% in monthly terms but up 20.2% year-on-year. In January this year, Brazil’s most productive field for oil production was the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin near the country’s south-eastern coastline, registering 875,680 bpd. 3/d. The processing unit with the highest oil production figure for the month was the Almirante Tamandaré floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, in the Búzios field, registering 241,608 bpd. Meanwhile, the Marechal Duque de Caxias FPSO, in the Mero field of the Santos Basin, had the highest monthly production of natural gas, registering 12.51m m
3/d.
