HAITI: Deadly stampede at historic tourist site
On 12 April the United Nations (UN) Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) expressed “deep solidarity with the Haitian people” following a day-earlier stampede at Unesco-designated World Heritage site Citadelle Laferrière in northern Haiti, which has left 25 dead and 30 injured on police (PNd’H) reports.
