Colombian media described a 25 April mortar attack on the Pan-American highway as one of the country’s worst terror attacks in decades. The explosion, in the south-western department of Cauca, left 20 people dead and around 50 others injured. It was the worst in a wave of attacks carried out over the past week by the Estado Mayor Central (EMC) guerrilla alliance.
