*The Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab), the logistics arm of Brazil’s agrarian development ministry, has released its second estimate for the 2026 coffee harvest, projecting a total of 66.7m sacks of coffee (one sack = 60kg), which represents an 18% increase compared to 2025. The latest forecast is up from Conab’s first estimate released in February of 66.2m sacks. This 2026 figure would also be a record harvest, surpassing the previous annual record of 63.1m sacks in 2020. Regarding coffee varieties, Conab forecasts that national arabica coffee production will total 45.8m sacks in 2026, which would be up 28% on the previous year, while robusta production would total 20.9m sacks, which would be up 0.8%. Brazil’s top two coffee producer states, the south-eastern states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, are expected to produce 33.4m sacks (+29.8% on 2025), and 18m sacks (+3.0%), respectively.
