BRAZIL: Flávio Bolsonaro meets with Trump amid popularity slump

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Partido Liberal, PL), who is expected to be the main right-wing contender in the presidential election this October, met with US President Donald Trump at the White House on 26 May. While the meeting could bolster Bolsonaro’s approval among far-right supporters in Brazil, it is uncertain how much it will offset the crisis which his campaign team have been facing in recent weeks following the media revelations in mid-May regarding Bolsonaro’s ties to Daniel Vorcaro, the CEO of the controversial Banco Master [WR-26-20].
