In brief: Remittances to El Salvador down in monthly terms
*El Salvador’s central bank (BCR) has released new figures showing that remittances to the country totalled US$851.13m in April, down from 910.81m in March but up from US$807.24m in April 2025. This brings the total for the year to US$3.29bn, up from US$3.08bn in the same period in 2025. Remittances to El Salvador totalled a record US$9.99bn in 2025, up 17.8% on 2024.
