In brief: Monthly inflation slows in Uruguay

*Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the official inflation figures for June, putting monthly inflation at 0.37% and annual inflation at 4.25%. The monthly rate for June is down from 0.70% in May, while the annual rate is up from 3.77%. Of the 13 categories of products and services measured by the INE, 10 saw monthly price rises in June 2026. The greatest monthly increases were registered in transport (+2.04%), personal care and various goods (+0.61%), information and communication (+0.39%), and restaurants and accommodation (+0.33%). The three categories that measured monthly deflation were clothing and footwear (-0.41%), home equipment (-0.08%), and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (-0.03%).
