Alexandre de Moraes, the justice at the supreme court (STF) who presided over the coup plot case that culminated in the conviction last year of former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), has banned his eldest son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Partido Liberal, PL), from visiting him. Although Jair Bolsonaro is currently under house arrest and his son has been visiting regularly in recent months, Moraes ordered the ban after Flávio shared a letter written by his father.
